Accessocraft War Relief Pin from World War II. This red-white and blue-enameled gold tone heraldic-style pin is a great World War II collectible! The pin features a shield with a crown and a lion, as well as flying banners behind. The motto on the pin, ‘Dieu et mon Droit’ translates to ‘God and my right,’. This is the motto that appears on the British Royal Crest.
Produced by Accessocraft as a fundraiser for the British war effort. The brooch is a design of Robert R. Appleby. Who made the donation, assigning half of the ownership to the British War Relief Society. While assigning the other half to Bundles for Britain. Where Bundles for Britain adopted the pin as the organization’s official badge, as well as it’s logo. The back is inscribed, “OFFICIAL BUNDLES FOR BRITAIN INC,” and carries design patent 123,071, issued October 15th, 1940 as seen in my list of Accessocraft Patents.
Accessocraft War Relief Pin Size and Condition
This Accessocraft War Relief Pin measures 1-5/8″ wide by 1-3/4″ tall. Overall this brooch is in very good condition. The enamel is almost fully intact less two small chips in the white banners of the pin. While the gold plating appears to have some tarnish from age.
Overall this is a very nice WWII collectible from 1940.
