Rare Monet War Relief Pin from 1940. This Bundles for Britain Brooch is one of many lapel pins and brooches created to support the WWI war effort. During the early years, before America entered the war, Relief Societies sprang up across the country. Two of them being “Bundles for Britain” and “The British War Relief Society”. While the USA remained isolated from the troubles in Europe, these societies gathered food and clothing for the bomb-riddled cities of England.
Two of the largest supporters of these efforts where Monet and Accessocraft. Donating the proceeds from their jewelry towards humanitarian goods as well as ammunition. While the pins of Accessocraft are readily available, the Monet counterparts are becoming increasingly harder to find.
This is a Royal Air Force Wings pin officially made for Bundles for Britain in 1940. With gold-tone wings and enamel accents of Red, White, and Blue.
